After9months: Transition through postpartum into motherhood

About you

You gave birth within the last year. You felt supported and informed during the pregnancy,  by your Health care professional, your friends, and family, even strangers (when you got unsolicited advice).

You took birthing classes, read books, and learned about all the stages of birth. No what type of birth experience had, you had people around you to take care of you, support you, and make decisions for you.

You had a baby registry, a list of things you need to take care of the baby. But, you never thought about preparing for postpartum. Did you wonder how long will it take to recover?

You were not prepared for the postpartum. You feel overwhelmed, tired, exhausted, your body hurts and you feel alone in the process.

What is the missing link?

We treat our pregnant women like a queen.

We talk about pregnancy, birth, and baby.

After the baby is born, there is

no support,

on information,

no help, and

no talk about postpartum

and its implications.

There are no guidelines on what to expect and how to navigate through the process..

"This was my story, and now I know, I am not the only one.

There are many mothers go through the same journey".

My name is Dhara Solanki, I am a pelvic health physical therapist, a mother, a wife, an entrepreneur, and always thought of myself as an independent woman for this century.

My story

My idea of postpartum: Resting and bonding with the baby for three months plus one month for exercise to regain the strength and get back to work, at the same level before the baby. The only difference would be, I will have the baby strapped on my waist. Nothing would be different!

Reality: Everything was different.

My Issues: Scared to poop the first time after-birth, Baby not sleeping at night, urinary urgency and frequency (leaked a few times), feeling alone and lost, self-identity crisis, struggle with losing pregnancy weight, mid-back, sternum and tailbone pain, diastasis recti, always tired and exhausted, my business struggled, and so did my relationship with my husband.

My first thoughts: I was sure I was the only one struggling, and all the other moms were thriving, and I am not putting effort, and that is why I am failing.

My initial solution: What's wrong with you?? Buckle up and do more. Need to put more effort. Google "how to be a supermom" ( there has to be a protocol since everyone else is doing it)

My transition: A long journey of resting, catching up on sleep, meditating, yoga and pilates, date lunches with husband, support from a lot of people, reading, and a new set of expectations.

My realization: "What the h*ll?!" We are not doing postpartum correctly. We are setting up our moms, our women, for failure. We need to fix this!

Welcome to the solution

After9months: Transition through postpartum into motherhood

I dedicated my time to finding answers. I wanted to know what we are missing and why?  There are a lot of things I learned and wished I knew before such as...

  • 1 in 9 women deals with postpartum depression

  • Postpartum depression needs more awareness and support.

  • Pelvic floor dysfunction is more common than postpartum depression. 1 in 3 women deals with pelvic floor related issues, but we don't hear about it.

  • If you have gestational diabetes, you are at a higher risk of getting diabetes later in life.

  • According to ACOG, the postpartum visit should be around two weeks, and women should be screened for in many categories, including All Postpartum women should be tested for postpartum Thyroiditis.

  • And the list goes on...

To share this knowledge to empower the new mothers and, most importantly, give them the support they need, I have created a postpartum recovery program.

Here are the details about the program-

What is this program?

  • This program is revolutionary. Usually, you find the postpartum program for weight loss or a therapy support or women's coaching program.

  • This program not only covers everything but shows you how it is intreated and how to overcome the challenges successfully.

  • Understand the depth and layers of Postpartum and learn how to navigate through the postpartum.

  • Help you recover from physiological, psychological stressor during pregnancy and birth.

  • Know what to expect from postpartum.

  • Comprehensive methodology to help you heal, and go through the transition.

  • A customized program for you to help you get where you want to be.

What is this program NOT?

  • Not a coaching program. I am a health care professional, and this is about getting treatment, finding answers, therapeutic healing, and tools to manage it.

  • Not a parenting class. It is going to give you the tools to be the best of you. It is not going to teach you how to be a mother. You already are!

  • Not a group meet up to talk about your baby. This is about you and figuring out what you need we work on the solution

  • Not a one size fits all program, no all live classes, no pre-recorded sessions.

Is this program for you?

  • Did you have a baby less than a year of postpartum? (if you are more than a year into postpartum, contact us for a different program)

  • Do you feel like your body is not the same as before the pregnancy?

  • Do you feel lost in the process of motherhood?

  • Are you facing challenges adjusting from pregnancy and birth to motherhood?

  • Do you have aches and pains?

  • Are you struggling to lose belly fat and/or baby weigh?

  • Do your pelvic floor and vagina feel different after childbirth?

  • Do you think you may have pelvic floor related issues, you feel embarrassed to discuss?

  • Are you tired and exhausted?

  • Do you feel your relationship with your partner/husband is not the same?

  • Do you feel anxious for no reason?

  • Are you feeling depressed, alone, or lost?

  • Do you think you have dialysis recti? ( separation of abdominal connection tissue)

  • Do you have pain or discomfort with sex after childbirth?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, this program is for you!
